Getting paid
An invoice that answers every question up front gets paid sooner. Most delays are a missing PO number or a line the client doesn't recognize.
In Canada, if you are registered for GST/HST, put your registration number on the invoice so business clients can claim their input tax credits. In the US, whether labour is taxable depends on the state, so check with your state's revenue department before you add sales tax to service lines.
Homeowners usually pay on receipt. Property managers and general contractors often work on Net 30, meaning the bill is due 30 days after the invoice date. Pick the terms before the job and write them on the estimate too, so nobody is surprised.

Yes. There are two tax lines with their own names and rates, so you can show GST and PST, or state and county sales tax, separately. Both are worked out on the subtotal after any discount.
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG and it goes in the top left corner of the PDF.
No. A PDF can only say how to pay. If you want a pay button, Clevra invoices carry a link where clients pay by card in US dollars.
Any number works. Pick a start like INV-1001 and go up by one every time. Never reuse a number, because your bookkeeper and the tax office both expect a clean sequence.
