What is leak detection software?
Leak detection software is the job-management tool a leak detection company uses to run its work. It books leak calls, sends the technician to the right property, records what the equipment found, produces the leak detection report, and handles the repair quote, the invoice and the payment.
Clevra is leak detection business software for the office side of it:
- Scheduling and dispatch: water leak detection calls, slab leaks, pool leaks and urgent leaks on one board
- Leak reports: a checklist on the phone with readings, thermal and moisture photos and signatures, turned into a PDF
- Repair quotes: spot repairs, reroutes and pool line repairs priced and signed online
- Invoices and payments: bill the detection, collect by card, or record a check on site
- Referral tracking: record which plumber, pool company, property manager or insurance adjuster sent you each customer
Water leak detection calls on one board
Leak work is urgent. A water bill doubled, a warm spot on the floor, a pool that loses an inch a day. Customers search for leak detection near me and call the first company that answers.
On the desktop calendar you book jobs, assign technicians and drag things around when a slab leak jumps the queue. Your techs see their own day in their phone's browser, with each stop's address. You see every truck's day from yours.
When you book the job, Clevra sends the customer a confirmation, and the day before, a reminder. Both go by email, and by text on Pro and up for customers who opt in. New leads can also request a time through your online request form, which drops them in your inbox.
What Clevra isn't: a GPS truck tracker or an automatic route optimizer. You plan the day's order on the board, and your techs get turn-by-turn directions in their own maps app.
Slab, underground, pool and hidden leaks: one job type each
Every kind of leak has its own method, its own equipment and its own report. Give each one its own line items on quotes and invoices and its own report form in Clevra, so the paperwork matches the work.
- Slab leak detection: pressure tests to isolate the hot or cold line, then acoustic listening and thermal imaging to pinpoint the leak under the floor
- Underground water leak detection: service lines, irrigation mains and fire lines between the meter and the building, found with ground microphones, line tracing and tracer gas
- Pool leak detection: dye tests on fittings, pressure tests on plumbing lines, and a dive or listening check on the shell, lights and skimmers
- Hidden water leak detection: leaks inside walls and ceilings, found with moisture meters and thermal imaging before anything gets opened up
Whatever your customers call it, plumbing leak detection or a leak specialist near them, word your line items the way they search for them.
Leak detection reports with photos, done on site
Clevra's work forms turn a leak detection visit into a PDF report before you leave the property. Your technician follows the same checklist every time, adds photos from the thermal camera and the moisture meter, and the report emails to your customer that day.
What a leak detection report usually covers:
- Property and complaint: address, what the customer noticed, and the water meter reading
- Method: pressure test, acoustic, thermal imaging, tracer gas or dye test, and the equipment used
- Readings: pressure-test results by line, moisture readings and where they were taken
- Location: where the leak is, marked on a photo or sketch, with depth where known
- Photos: thermal images, moisture readings, the marked spot and any visible damage
- Cause and recommendation: what failed and the repair you recommend
- Sign-off: the technician's signature and the customer's
Need different reports for slab, pool and underground work? Build one form for each. Work forms come with Pro and Business.
Leak detection reports for insurance claims
Many leak calls turn into a water leak insurance claim. The homeowner's adjuster wants to know where the leak was, what caused it and what it damaged, with photos.
Your Clevra report gives them that: the method, the readings, the location, the photos and your recommendation in one PDF with your company name. Email it to your customer and download it to forward to the adjuster.
What Clevra doesn't do: bill insurance carriers directly or connect to insurance estimating software. Send the invoice to whoever pays you: the homeowner, the property manager or the contractor.
Quote the repair before you leave
You found it: a pinhole in the hot line under the kitchen, or a cracked return line behind the pool wall. The customer wants a price now.
Open the customer in Clevra, start a quote and add the line items: access and spot repair, line reroute, pool line repair, patch and restore. Send it for digital signature, and the customer signs online from their own phone.
Once they approve, the quote's line items carry over to the job, so nothing gets typed twice. Don't do repairs? Send the report to the plumber who will, and track them as a lead source.
Invoice the detection. Get paid before you pull out.
Leak found. Tap "Generate Invoice" on the job and its line items carry over. Add the extras, like a second line tested or an after-hours call, then email it to the customer. On Pro and up, customers who opt in to texts also get a heads-up by SMS.
Customers pay by card from the link in the invoice. Paid by check on the spot? Your tech records it on the invoice. Turn on automatic overdue reminders on Pro and up, or send a reminder with one tap.
Track every referral. Know your pipeline.
Leak detection runs on referrals: plumbers who don't own the equipment, pool service companies, property managers and insurance adjusters.
Set the referring company as each new customer's lead source, and the lead source report on Pro and up shows who sends you the most work. Clevra's CRM gives you a real sales pipeline for the repair quotes that follow, from new request to won or lost, and you can rename the stages to match how you sell.

Crew time and records in the same app
Techs clock in and out from their phone, or you add time by hand. Approve timesheets, confirm the pay period and export it for payroll. Keep each tech's licence and training certificates on their profile.
