Doing this every week?
In Clevra the client opens the estimate from an email, types their name to approve, and can sign with a finger. The approved estimate becomes the job with one click.
Estimates are on every plan, including Free. Automatic follow-ups start on Pro ($49 a month, or $39 billed yearly).
Who it is for, where the work is, and when the price runs out.
Labour, parts, rentals and disposal on separate lines, with tax underneath. Use the markup calculator if you need a number.
Download the PDF and send it. When the client says yes, turn it into an invoice here.
Winning the job
The estimate is the first thing the client reads about how you work. A clear scope wins more jobs than a low number, and it saves the argument at the end.
Say what you will do, what you will use and where. "Replace 40 gal gas water heater with like for like, new flex lines and expansion tank, haul away old tank" tells the client exactly what they are paying for.
List what is not included: permits billed at cost, drywall patching, excavation, after-hours work. Most change-order fights start with something nobody wrote down.
Prices on parts move, so give the estimate an end date. If you need a deposit to order equipment, write the amount and when the balance is due.
A signature line turns the estimate into an agreement. Keep the signed copy with the job.
Yes. No account and no email. Fill it in, download the PDF and send it however you like.
Thirty days is common. Go shorter when part prices move fast, like copper or equipment with long lead times, and say so on the estimate.
Many contractors take one when they have to order parts or hold a date. Check your local rules first: California, for example, caps the down payment on most home improvement contracts at 10% of the price or $1,000, whichever is less.
The PDF has a signature and date line for a printed or scanned signature. In Clevra, clients approve estimates online with their name and an optional drawn signature.
