Comparison / Clevra vs FAST BFP
What a backflow tester needs from each: FAST Tester to file in utilities that run FAST, Clevra for the schedule, the customer report and the invoice. FAST details checked October 20, 2026.
The short answer
FAST is cross connection control software from MTS Inc. in Vernon, BC. Utilities run their program in FAST Manager, and testers file through FAST Tester, a web app on a phone or tablet. Some utilities charge extra for reports sent any other way. FAST Tester is good at the filing: the assembly details are already there, pass or fail is worked out for you, and you get an email when the utility accepts it. It isn't built to book customers, send repair estimates or bill. That's Clevra's job.
| Item | Clevra | FAST Tester |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free $0 (1 user); Pro $49/mo (5 users); Business $99/mo (15 users) | About $50 a year per tester, according to utilities that use it |
| Report fees | None | Free through FAST Tester; some utilities charge for paper or email reports (the RDNO lists $22 a report) |
| Can you opt out | Not easily, where the utility uses FAST |
FAST fees from notices by the Regional District of North Okanagan (2025), the Village of Pemberton and the City of Kamloops. Confirm the current fee on fastbfp.ca.
Using both
Clevra holds the customer, the visit and the invoice. FAST holds the utility's official record. Here's one way to run the day.
